7 Barca players that could leave as free agents in summer: contract round-up

Memphis Depay

The Dutchman’s deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but he has reportedly asked Barcelona to terminate his contract in January. He wants to join another club as a free agent in the winter, but it remains to be seen if Barca agree to it. If not, Memphis is almost guaranteed to leave next summer.

Hector Bellerin

Bellerin has failed to impress in his return to Camp Nou. His poor performances have failed to impress Xavi, who doesn’t see him as a long-term option. Barca are ready to listen to offers for him in January and if not able to sell him, the club will let his deal run out next summer.

Marcos Alonso

Alonso only signed a one-year contract with Barca when he joined from Chelsea. But the club have been impressed by what they’ve seen from the Spaniard and are likely to extend his deal before the current one expries in June.

Sergi Roberto

Roberto also signed a contract extension earlier this year that will keep him at the club until at least June 2023. But with the Spaniard struggling with injuries, Barca might let his deal run out next year.

Sergio Busquets

Busquets’ 17+ year stay at Barca could come to an end next summer. His current deal expires at the end of the season and he hasn’t agreed an extension yet. Barca will talk to him about his future and are reportedly willing to extend his deal, but the midfielder himself appears to be ready to move on to a new journey.

Inaki Pena

The Barca no.2 is also seeing his contract expiring next summer. However, the club want to keep Pena for longer and will reportedly offer him fresh terms over a contract extension.

Arnau Tenas

Tenas’ deal is also going to be coming to an end at the end of the season. However, the young goalkeeper might not be so lucky and could be released by the club in the summer.
