Jordi Cruyff gives update on Balde’s contract renewal talks

“We are happy with his development,” Jordi Cruyff said about Barcelona’s contract talks with Alejandro Balde over renewing his contract.

“We have been working on renewing his contract for a long time and the relationship with his agents is perfect. The player is grateful to Barcelona and Barcelona is grateful to him,” he added.

Balde’s current deal is set to expire in the summer, but it doesn’t look like he will leave the club at all.

The club are negotiating a new contract with his agents, as they want him to pen a five-year extension with a higher salary and include a €1bn release clause into his deal too.

Alejandro is likely to fully finalize the contract extension once he returns from World Cup duty with Spain.
