'I'm here thanks to them': Dani Alves grateful Barca let him train with reserves ahead of World Cup

Dani Alves is currently breaking records at the 2022 World Cup, but he might've not been called up if not for Barcelona allowing him to train with the reserves before the tournament.

"I had trained there and I'm grateful for the reception I got," Dani Alves has said, as quoted by Diario Sport.

"I am thankful to Rafa Marquez [Barca Atletic coach] and all his technical staff for their welcome. Also to president Joan Laporta who opened the doors for me. I'm here thanks to them."

Alves currently is a UNAM Pumas player. The season in Mexico ended early, and the Brazilian didn't have where to train in preparation for the World Cup. That's when Barca opened their doors to the club legend.
