President Laporta's son suspected of breaking the law over Alonso and 2 more transfers at Barca

Guillem Laporta, son of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, has been suspected of breaking the law and Barca's code of ethics as regards the transfer of Marcos Alonso, Sergino Dest and Clement Lenglet last summer, according to Diario ARA.

In July 2022, Guillem and his friend Raul Verdu registered a football agency known as Top Level Football 77 with the aim of managing and representing footballers. They soon became the agent of Marc Bernal, one of Barca's La Masia players.

Top Level Football 77 also worked with Fali Ramadani, Alonso's agent, to help Barca secure his services from Chelsea. Verdu confirmed that their company was involved in the loan departure of Dest (to AC Milan) and Lenglet (to Tottenham) but did not receive payment from Barca.

By getting involved in the transfers, Guillem has allegedly breached Barca's code of ethics and Catalan sports law which prohibits any stakeholder of the club, their spouse or their relation from benefiting from a contract by any means.

Barcelona stated they have conducted an investigation and found no foul play, but Guillem Laporta is said to have contacted many Barca starlets to sign with his company. Barca denies this allegation also.

The 25-year-old Guillem did not succeed as a footballer. He became a free agent last summer after leaving Andorra-based outfit, Sant Julia.
