Barcelona have completely ruled out the signing of Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva, as per Sport.
Barca’s admiration for Bernardo is no big secret. The Catalans made an attempt to sign him in the summer of 2021 and the most recent transfer window as well. However, financial circumstances prevented the deal from happening on both occasions.
It won't happen next year either and the reason for that is quite the same.
City would hold out for at least €80 million as the starting price for Silva, which would be a major problem, despite the Portuguese ace’s desire to move to Spotify Camp Nou.
On top of that, there is an urgent need for Barca to reinforce the right-back position.
And with Martin Zubimendi, Xavi’s desired option for the pivot position, set to cost €60 million, it is easy to understand why the club will no longer consider a move for Silva.
