According to The Telegraph's Matt Law, Franck Kessie is among the midfielders being closely monitored by Chelsea.
It's now a real possibility that the London club could put in a bid for Kessie before the end of the transfer window.
Kessie put in a Man of the Match performance in Barcelona's Copa del Rey demolition of Ceuta by assisting goals and scoring one himself in the 5-0 win. However, that game was only his seventh start of the season from 18 games played.
The Ivorian was a first-team regular during his time at AC Milan and started almost every game in their successful run to the Serie A title last term. It turns out that opportunities have been few and far between for Kessie since his move to Barca.
Barcelona may take the money if Chelsea decides to splash the cash on the 26-year-old. Although sources around the player claim he prefers to keep fighting for his place under Xavi.
Kessie is valued at €35m byTransfermarkt. But Barca may ask for more if they intend to sell the player. He was signed for free six months ago.
