Barca stuck with Bellerin as it stands because of failed €40m transfer elsewhere

Hector Bellerin's exit from Barcelona hit a stonewall earlier today as Sporting CP are yet to agree on a deal with Tottenham over the sale of their right-back Pedro Porro, per multiple reports.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sporting changed some details of the deal with Spurs for their right-back which has put the move in limbo. Other sources say the Portuguese club suddenly increased his fee to €40m after sensing Spurs' desperation to sign him.

If Porro doesn't join Tottenham, there will be no need to sign Bellerin from Barcelona. The plan is for the Spaniard to replace Porro at Sporting.

The deal being proposed by Sporting is a six-month loan deal for Bellerin. His contract runs out at the end of the season which means he won't return to Barca.

Reports claim Barcelona will not sign a replacement for Bellerin if he eventually leaves. The 27-year-old has played just seven games in his first five months at Barca.
