Man United inquire about Ansu Fati, youngster's future to depend on one thing (reliability: 4 stars)

Manchester United have contacted Barcelona to ask about their plans on Ansu Fati, Diario Sport's Lluis Miguelsanz claims. The English team is eyeing a summer move for the 20-year-old.

At the moment, the Catalans do not want to sell him but everything will depend on what happens in the second part of the season.

For Ansu, it is important to have regular playing time and he is disappointed that he hasn't been getting it this season despite having fully recovered from his injuries. Besides, Xavi's new tactics of using Gavi on the wing don't benefit Fati, pushing him further down the pecking order.

Barca, too, could be open to a move if the La Masia graduate continues in his rotational role. The club knows that it will need a big-money departure next summer and Fati is one of the few players that could bring the club significant income.

The forward's agent, Jorge Mendes, has been collecting interest from other clubs and has made Blaugrana aware that they won't be short on good offers on Fati. However, Man United's interest is the most pronounced.

Ansu has a release clause of €1bn so it is impossible that Barca lose him against their will. It's also clear that the Catalans will not put Fati on the market and will wait for other clubs to initiate talks -- if they decide to sell the youngster -- or for the player to ask to leave.

Ansu is the only Barca player to have featured in all matches (30) this term. However, he only started on 9 occasions, mostly against weaker oppositions or when Xavi had no other options in attack. The 20-year-old has contributed with 6 goals and 3 assists.
