"We don't want him [Messi]. He is not invested in the club. 18 goals and 16 assists is all well and good against Angers and Clermont, but he disappears in big games. It's a joke," former PSG player Jerome Rothen has told the media, via A Bola.
"We've seen what he can do [at the World Cup]. He just doesn't help PSG in the slightest," the 44-year-old added.
This is just another piece of Messi slander from Rothen who clearly wants to go viral with his straightforward opinions on the Argentine.
His words are a bit exaggerated, though. This season, Messi has registered goal contributions against such teams as Juventus, Benfica, Lille, Lyon, Nice and Marseille, among others. Even in the second leg against Bayern Munich, the 35-year-old looked more helpful than Kylian Mbappe and some other PSG 'stars'.
