Modric names one Blaugrana in his 5-a-side team — Barca fans used to criticise this player a lot

In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was asked to pick his five-a-side team without a goalkeeper. Perhaps surprisingly, the 37-year-old included one former Barcelona player.

"Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and I would say Ivan Rakitic because I can’t have all Real Madrid, but of course Casemiro and Karim Benzema too," Modric said.

Rakitic was a very divisive figure during his time at Camp Nou -- cules criticised him, judging him by Xavi's standards, the midfielder he replaced. However, many have come to appreciate the Croat's attributes eventually.

After all, there is a reason why Modric picked Rakitic ahead of other fellow Croats.
