What happened to 5 La Masia kids who interviewed Leo Messi with Ballon d'Or on the table — answered
After Lionel Messi won his 5th Ballon d'Or in 2016, Barcelona came up with an interview in which Leo and 5 different La Masia captains acted as the main characters.
What has happened to each of them, though?
1. Pau Prim
The 17-year-old is the only one who represents Blaugrana at the moment. He plays for Barcelona U18 and, like 7 years ago, captains his team.
He is a captain of Spain's youth side as well.
2. Pablo Lopez
The 18-year-old right-back is currently on loan at Cornella U19 from Barcelona U19. There is a big chance that his future will lie elsewhere.
3. Alex Rico
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was released by Barca in 2021. Since then, he has made just one first-team appearance for a famous Segunda side Malaga.
4. Arnau Comas
The centre-back is the only one here who has at least made the bench for the first team – he did it twice.
Barcelona let him go for free in July and he went on to join Basel where he's a regular starter. The 22-year-old still has a soft spot for Barca, it seems.
5. Juanma Garcia
The eldest in the vid, Juanma is now 26, married and with two kids.
After leaving La Masia for free in 2016 [the year when the video was made], he has featured for Liverpool U23, Ukrainian side Vorskla and multiple non-top-tier Spanish sides. He currently plays for Atletico Saguntino in the third division.
