Yesterday's win over Elche was, for the most part, a walk in the park for Barcelona despite Xavi playing a heavily rotated squad. The Catalans opened the score early in the first half and then added 3 more after the break.
Barca registered 6 shots on target and allowed just 2, helping Marc-Andre ter Stegen to another clean sheet. There was that one time Elche hit the crossbar but other than that, we kept them at bay.
Most of our players looked great -- Gavi led the midfield, Robert Lewandowski scored a brace, and even Marcos Alonso looked solid in his new role at centre-back.
Others didn't necessarily have great matches throughout but showed glimpses of their bests selves, mostly through the goals they scored (looking at you, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres).
It was clear why Eric Garcia and Sergi Roberto aren't Xavi's primary choices in midfield but they were decent nonetheless. Jules Kounde and Franck Kessie didn't do anything special but we can commend them on their effort.
Lastly, we'd wish to give a more in-depth description of Pablo Torre and debutant Aleix Garrido but they didn't spend enough time on the pitch -- give them more time, Xavi!
