Xavi tips one Barca player to be a 'great captain' after Busquets exit - not Araujo

Barcelona are set to lose out on two of their senior leaders in Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba after they leave soon.

However, Xavi doesn’t think that will affect his captaincy core and believes Sergi Roberto can follow in their footsteps as an exemplary leader.

He said after the Mallorca game: “Sergi Roberto is a fine captain, exemplary, he talks much more than people think, he is an undervalued footballer and he will be a great captain.”

It appears that Roberto will have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders next season as Barca’s first captain and be relied upon to motivate his teammates.

The 31-year-old has made 31 appearances for the Blaugrana this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists across all competitions.
