RB Leipzig have axed ex-Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba from their squad for the 2023/24 season.

The 20-year-old has been put on the transfer market but he simply can't find a club with less than 72 hours left to the end of the transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Barca sold Moriba to Leipzig for €16m with €6m to come in variables, but Barca have very little chance of getting that €6m as the player's value has plummeted since he left Camp Nou.

Barca also added a 10% sell-on clause on his contract with Leipzig but they're unlikely to get it as Leipzig are now working to cut their losses on the player.

Moriba was loaned to Valencia last season where he played 28 matches. But he didn't really impress as he picked up two red cards and five yellow cards during his spell there.

The midfielder was doing well at Barca and was even considered Sergio Busquets' successor. Unfortunately, he fell out with the club over his wage demands in a new deal and was frozen out from the first team before being sold.
