Dmytro Chyhrynskyi is not one of the names you would think of when recalling the iconic Barcelona coached by Guardiola, but he did don the Blaugrana colors under Pep, albeit not for long.

Signed for €25 million on a five-year deal from Shakhtar in 2009, the Ukrainian defender's time at Barca was anything but remarkable. He managed only twelve appearances for the club before returning to Ukraine a year later.

One of the highlights of his short stint at Camp Nou occurred during the Zaragoza clash.

With Barca leading 2-0, Guardiola signaled for Chyhrynskyi to enter the field. But the Ukrainian refused..and had a good reason for doing so!

The thing is, the coach had already used all three substitutions available by that time.

The moment of realization

The Barcelona bench couldn't help but giggle at Pep.

14 years later, Chyhrynskyi still plays football, by the way.

At 36, he represents Shakhtar and is likely to play against Barca this Wednesday.
