Ronald Araujo's ultimatum to Barca unveiled
Ronald Araujo asks that Barcelona pay him a similar salary to what clubs offered him in the Premier League and Germany.
If Barcelona refuses to offer Araujo a commiserate salary to the offers he previously received elsewhere, the defender will not sign a new contract, Diario Sport reveal.
Thus, Araujo will run down his contract and leave Barcelona as a free agent in 2026 when he turns 27 — the same age as Raphinha.
If Araujo indeed leaves for free, it would be a huge economic blow for Barca as the Uruguayan stalwart is currently valued at €100m.
Barcelona reportedly received offers from Manchester United and recently Bayern to sell Araujo but the club refused to discuss his exit as they consider him an important player.
However, contract extension talks with Araujo have hit a dead end since December 2023 due to Barca's low-ball offer.
