Breaking Pele feat & more: 3 major records Lamine Yamal broke in Euro 2024 semi-final

Lamine Yamal cemented himself into football history with an amazing performance to help Spain defeat France 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semi-final.

The Barcelona youngster scored a brilliant long-range effort to bring things level in the game. He also created a few nice chances and tormented the defenders with his movement.

Yamal ended up breaking quite a few impressive records with his heroics. He became the youngest player to feature in a major international tournament’s semi-final.

The Spaniard did so at 16 years and 362 days old, surpassing the record set by Brazilian legend Pele in the 1958 World Cup semi-finals.

Yamal also became the youngest player to score in a European Championship. He did so in rather emphatic fashion after missing a lot of scoring chances earlier on in Euro 2024.

The Barcelona man also won the Player of the Match award, becoming the youngest player to do so in a European Championship clash.
