Top source confirms Ilkay Gundogan likely to leave Barca, mentions surprise contract detail

Ilkay Gundogan is exploring the possibility of leaving Barcelona this month, reports The Athletic's David Ornstein.
Premier League clubs, as well as Saudi, Qatari and Turkish sides are interested in signing the German. Gundogan reportedly has offered himself to Manchester City lately.
Gundogan's current deal with Barca actually runs until 2026, not 2025. His contract was automatically extended after he made the required number of appearances last season. Still, the Catalans might let the 33-year-old go for free.
The midfielder is currently among Blaugrana's highest-paid players. He is also not in Hansi Flick's tactical plans for this season.
Ilkay Gundogan scored five goals and provided 14 assists in 51 appearances for Barcelona last season.
