Fabrizio Romano: Barcelona 100% ready to allow Ilkay Gundogan leave for free

As per Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are willing to let Ilkay Gundogan leave the club for free this summer.

They will not ask for any transfer fee for the 33-year-old's exit. His contract will be mutually terminated, allowing him to join any other club as a free agent.

Man City are in talks with Gundogan's agents and discussing the terms of a deal that will see him return to the Premier League champions.

Pep Guardiola has already green-lit the move and wants the midfielder back in his squad. Gundogan will now have to give a final approval for this deal to be confirmed.

Barca are being forced to offload Gundogan because of their financial troubles. With the German midfielder off their books, they'll be able to register new players and perhaps even make a few signings.
