This summer, Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmati received several lucrative offers to leave Barcelona but she stuck to her guns and decided to stay with the Catalans.
Barca have now rewarded her with a bumper new contract that runs until the summer of 2028. But that's not all.
According to ESPN, Bonmatti will become the highest-paid women's footballer in the world.
Bonmati's salary is not revealed but Barca Femeni's highest earner before was Alexia Putellas who earns around €800,000 annually, that's €15,000 per week.
Thus, Bonmati probably pockets around €1 million or more yearly in her new contract.
Aitana Bonmati is expected to retain her Ballon d'Or trophy this year.
