Di Maria: 'Cristiano represents work, Messi is pure talent, the gap is huge'
Angel Di Maria has spoken again about the comparison between his former teammate at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, and his fellow Argentine, Lionel Messi. Di Maria made it clear that he believes there is a significant gap between the two players.
Di Maria said, "I think Leo Messi has more dimensions as a footballer than Cristiano. I have always said the same thing and I will continue to say it. They're the two best players in history, but Messi represents a huge gap over Cristiano."
He went on to explain the differences between them, stating, "Cristiano represents work, work, just work. Messi is a pure talent, a gift from god. He doesn't need any effort, he's just the best at this."
Di Maria emphasised that Messi's talent is unique, saying, "That's why the difference between them is so big, Leo can't be compared to anyone."
