Violence erupts in the stands at Wembley during England vs Hungary clash

Violent scenes marred England's 2022 World Cup qualifier against Hungary at the Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Crowd trouble broke out minutes into the game, shortly after the away fans loudly jeered the Three Lions players for taking the knee.

A cluster of Hungary supporters, mostly wearing black T-shirts, clashed with stewards and police who could be seen wielding batons during the skirmish.

A Metropolitan Police statement reads: "Officers entered the stand to arrest a spectator for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward.. Minor disorder broke out involving other spectators. Order was quickly restored and there have been no further incidents."
