Juventus midfielder Ihattaren ‘pondering retirement’ aged 19 due to depression
Juventus youngster Mohammed Ihattaren is thinking about retirement from football at the age of 19 due to mental health problems, claims Calciomercato.
The 19-year-old has been suffering from severe depression since the death of his father in 2019.
The midfielder – currently on loan at Sampdoria – was even given a personal assistant to help him adapt to his new surroundings.
But, his whereabouts have not been known by either of the Serie A clubs since October 12.
According to reports, the passing of Ihattaren’s father led to personal issues as his dad was someone who “watched over his offspring, made decisions and could be strict.”
The midfielder has not made a competitive appearance since April and it’s unknown whether he’ll ever play professional football again.
