Mexico ordered to play 2 more World Cup qualifiers behind closed doors due to anti-gay chants

FIFA have issued a further punishment to Mexico for a chant that includes a homophobic slur — and that the fans refuse to give up.

The country's next two 2022 World Cup qualifying games against Costa Rica in January and Panama in February will now be played behind closed doors.

The chant in question has been used for nearly a decade and is usually directed at the opposition's goalkeeper. Back in July, it even halted a Gold Cup game against Canada.
