Marcelo Bielsa: 'I have serious doubts over the future of professional football'

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Marcelo Bielsa slammed the hectic fixture calendar in the Premier League and in Europe.

The Leeds United manager said during a press conference: "The calendar is so overcharged it doesn't bear in mind the development of the preparation.

"That's why I have serious doubts over the future of professional football because it is constantly commercialised and the product every time is constantly worse."

Leeds are set to play a total of seven Premier League games in just 29 days, meaning that the players will only have 2–3 days of rest.

The upcoming run for Bielsa's side will also include clashes against English giants Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
