Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez is no longer looking to move Luuk de Jong out of his squad after the towering striker has impressed him in recent games, claims Mundo Deportivo.

The Dutchman scored a goal in the 2-3 loss to Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa semi-final on Wednesday this week.

That makes it three goals in the last 3 outings for De Jong who looked a real outlet inside the box.

Xavi also rates his hard-working ability, his attitude, and how he has been able to adapt to the new system. That's why the plans to offload De Jong to Cadiz might be scuppered now.

Instead, Memphis Depay is now likely to be transfer-listed as Xavi won’t have a problem with him being offloaded.

The Dutchman reportedly 'doesn’t suit' the way Barca play under the new manager's system, with De Jong surprisingly turning out to be a better fit.
