The Africa Cup of Nations 2021 ended on Sunday after Senegal defeated Egypt on penalties in the final.
It was a relatively cagey final, but Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy became their hero to stop several penalties before Sadio Mane scored the match-winning penalty.
Mane was announced as the ‘Best Player of the tournament’ after scoring 3 goals and registering 2 assists in the competition.
Mendy won the best goalkeeper award after keeping 5 clean sheets in just 7 appearances.
Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar won the Golden Boot after scoring 8 goals in the competition.
Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed Gabal – who saved two penalties in the final – won the player of the match award for the game.
