UEFA are making plans to expel Russian side Spartak Moscow from this season’s UEFA Europa League after Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, claims BILD.

This is being done as their own version of sanctions against Russia after sparking a war with their neighboring country.

If this is confirmed, it would mean that RB Leipzig – who were scheduled to face Spartak – will get a bye and qualify straight to the quarter-finals.

Spartak are the only remaining Russian team in the Europa League after Zenit St. Petersburg were knocked out last week.
