'No war': Italian striker changes his name to send message of peace after Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Simone Guerra changed the last name on the back of his shirt on Monday to protest Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Serie C striker, whose surname means 'war' in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, added the word 'no' to his jersey for the game against Triestina.

Displaying the message 'NO WAR' on the back of his shirt, the 32-year-old scored a brace to secure a 3–0 win for his club Feralpisalo.
