Russian sports channel TV host: 'I wish Poland and Lewandowski a huge fail at the World Cup. You're filthy creatures'

After seeing Poland qualify for the Qatar World Cup, Russian sports channel Match TV host Anton Anisimov lashed out at them and said: “I want to say this specifically from myself, not on behalf of the channel.

“I wish the Polish national team and Robert Lewandowski the biggest fail at the World Cup. Good luck guys [said with huge sarcasm, Tribuna points out], you are filthy creatures.”

These comments are maybe because Poland played a role in having Russia banned from the Qatar World Cup and UEFA competitions ever since they started the military invasion of Ukraine.

Russia remains barred from all international events because of their aggression against Ukraine.

Anisimov, moreover, is a controversial journalist in Russia, and Russian fans themselves are annoyed with his comments and want nothing to do with him. Here is what some said.

Brig_Mercury (via Sports.ru): “What's this bulls***about? How can a TV host state an opinion from himself while at work? You have social media for this. Behave when live on air, kids can watch you.”

Saint Gachimartyr: “This TV channel deserves such hosts. These comments are a shame, totally burning the bridges. He'd better get his cojones together and call out those in our government who made Russia pariahs. “

Kasztelan: “After reading this, I now have the opinion that it's Anisimov [the host] who is the filthy creature.”

Tibalt: “Interesting that he didn't name Czechs and Swedes and the other FIFA and UEFA countries that refused to play with us or have anything in common.”

Russia is still destroying Ukrainian cities and killing civilians including kids with all the weapons imaginable. We strongly condemn Putin’s genocide and acts of terror against Ukraine.
