Serie A side Sassuolo’s striker Nicola Schiappacasse has landed himself in major trouble after being caught traveling with a 9mm pistol in Uruguay, as per the Sun.
This happened when the forward was on loan at Penarol and was travelling for a derby game against rivals Nacional back in January.
He reportedly told investigators that the gun was for a fan, but Nicola got arrested and handed a 14-month prison sentence.
Schiappacasse ended up striking a deal with prosecutors to reduce that and serve six months prison sentence in the home of his parents.
Once release on parole, he must also do four hours of community service a week and sign on regularly at a police station.
Nicola spent nearly two-and-a-half months in jail before having his sentence reduced.
The 23-year-old has only made 2 appearances in his career for Sassuolo and has one year remaining on his contract.
