Gareth Bale was notably absent from the wild celebrations that broke out after Real Madrid won their 35th La Liga title.
Taking to Twitter, the Welshman explained: "So disappointed that i’m not able to be part of the celebrations this evening due to a bad back spasm but really proud of the team for winning the title! Enjoy tonight boys!"
Bale continues to be a controversial figure at the club and is expected to leave for free at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has played just five league games for Madrid this term, scoring one goal in the process.
