Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the acquisition of Freiburg centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck as their second signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old defender has signed a 5 year contract with Dortmund, who will reportedly pay their fellow Bundesliga club €20m for the signing.
Speaking on his thoughts on the move, Schlotterbeck said: “It's important to me on the home stretch of the season to concentrate fully on the remaining three games with SC Freiburg, which we will hopefully successfully contest being able to concentrate. After that, I'm looking forward to the new tasks with BVB.”
Schlotterbeck has made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga for Freiburg this season, scoring 4 goals and helping them keep 10 clean sheets.
He becomes their second signing for next season, with Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule also set to join Dortmund in the summer.
