Zlatan Ibrahimovic officially leaves AC Milan after the club decided not to extend his contract.
But although the Swedish striker turns 43 in October, he may not be retiring yet. Fabrizio Romano reports that Zlatan will make a decision on his future in the coming days.
Zlatan has been at AC Milan for the last three and a half years, and it's safe to say he defied all expectations. Coming in as a 39-year-old from MLS after a major knee injury, he scored 11 in the first half a season (he joined in January 2020) and then 17 the following season.
In the season 2021-22, the team won their first league title in ten years with Zlatan chipping in 8 league goals. But he was more fundamental to his team off the pitch, as multiple players credited Zlatan with changing their mentality, which made the league title happen.
It's hard to see Ibrahimovic continue to play football given his age and the fact his knees are done, but you never know with Zlatan.
