Manchester City defender John Stones has shared his thoughts on teammate Rodri's season-ending injury, calling it "difficult news" for the team.
Stones revealed he spoke with Rodri yesterday, saying the Spanish midfielder is "doing well" and "in good spirits" after undergoing surgery.
"Rodri's set an incredible standard over the past few seasons," Stones praised. "We know what a key player he is for us."
Despite the long recovery ahead, Stones expressed confidence in City's depth: "A lot of quality in a lot of players... more than capable of filling in."
Rodri suffered the serious injury during City's Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Stones emphasized the importance of Rodri's mental well-being: "He's come to terms with it... needs to take some time now and relax and recover the best he can."
With Rodri out for the remainder of the season, City will rely on their talented squad to fill the void.
