Liverpool to lose £4.5m - £23m over Coutinho's Bayern move
Philippe Coutinho has recently completed his season-long loan move to Bayern Munich worth £7.7m. The Germans, meanwhile, will have an option to sign him permanently for £111m. And while it might be good news for 'O Magico', the deal surely hasn't been greeted with cheer at LFC headquarters.
The thing is, the Reds have received only £105million upfront from Barcelona for Philippe's sale in 2018, with an additional £37million set to be paid in instalments.
According to Sport via Mirror, Liverpool have triggered just £14m payments of the sum. Additional £18m are to be paid under the condition of the 27-year-old making 100 appearances for Barca, £5m if the Catalans won the Champions League with the Brazilian in the squad.
Therefore, if Bayern are to trigger the buyout option Liverpool won't receive the said money.
And it's kind of a bummer, because, for instance, Liverpool received less for being crowned as the Champions of Europe, with prize money for lifting the trophy being at €19m.

At the same time, as per Metro, it's only £4.5m of the performance-related add-ons that the Reds are currently due, with the rest of the sum already being transferred. These minor bonuses can still be triggered if Coutinho returns to Barca after the loan spell.
Last season at Barca, Coutinho only scored 11 goals in all competitions. In total, he contributed to 32 Barcelona goals with 21 goals and 11 assists, failing to live up to any expectations at Camp Nou. So even with potential losses, the deal agreed in January 2018 might be truly considered as a huge success.
