'I lived exceptional moments': Mamadou Sakho reveals he has no regrets over his Liverpool career

The President of the Liverpool country - although Mamadou Sakho's time at Liverpool is not discussed anymore, it is an undeniable fact that the centre-back was one of the fan favourites at Anfield during his four years here.

Speaking to Daily Star, the French international said: "When I left Paris Saint-Germain, I had a number of offers from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool.

"I choose Liverpool because they were one of the clubs of my dreams with a great history.

"I had the chance to spend four years there in the Reds’ shirt at Anfield with a fantastic crowd."

The centre-back added that he loved spending time with players such as Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, and Philippe Coutinho: "I had very good relationships with my board and I played alongside great talents like Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge or Steven Gerrard.

"I lived exceptional moments with those players."

Sakho was an integral part of Liverpool's starting line-up under Brendan Rodgers, and he was a fan favourite due to his happy go lucky attitude.

At one point of time, the centre-back was even one of the best at his position in the league - but it all went sour when he tested positive for a banned substance he had taken without informing the club, and he had to miss the 2016 Europa League final as a result.

After a good half-season under Jurgen Klopp, the player was sent to the reserves due to disciplinary issues and then was finally sold to Crystal Palace.

Many fans were sad to see him go, but the Reds have not missed him since he left. Nevertheless, it is good to see that Sakho still remembers his time at Anfield fondly.
