'Expensive cars and watches don't matter to him!': former opponent claims Sadio was destined to succeed at Liverpool

It has always been obvious that Sadio Mane was going to be an exceptional player. That's the opinion of his former opponent at the Austrian league, midfielder Oliver Kragl.

Kragl used to play at SV Ried when Sadio was shining at RB Salzburg. In his 87 appearances for the Austrian outfit, Mane scored 45 goals and then sealed a move to Southampton.

Now a Benevento player, Kragl told Goal: "I already saw where Sadio's career would go. He is exceptional. Fast, technically excellent and always knows where to position himself.

"It's normal that he is idolised in Liverpool. He is relaxed and polite. Expensive cars and watches don't matter to him and he donates a lot of money to his home country as he tries to help the people there. That shows the person he is."

A great player and a great lad - that's the way Sadio is:

At Liverpool, Mane has made 161 appearances, scoring 77 goals and providing 34 assists. The Senegalese has helped the Reds to the 6th Champions League title and Club World Cup.
