Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, local lad and academy product Adam Lewis discussed how the rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold has inspired him.
Lewis said: "Trent was in the U16 team under Pep that I played in. I’ve known Trent for quite a long while now and I’ve always said he was going to be a player one day.
"From when we were young and just watching him I told him that. At this moment in time he is probably the best right-back in the world without a shadow of a doubt."
Lewis is a left-back himself and he made his senior debut back in February in the FA Cup fourth-round win over Shrewsbury Town at Anfield. The 20-year-old is highly rated by youth coaches and is just coming back from a knee injury that kept him out for a long time.
Trent's meteoric rise to the top of the footballing world has indeed been inspirational - merely 21, the Red is already a Premier League and Champions League winner and is easily the best Liverpool academy product since Steven Gerrard.
If Lewis can become half as good as Trent in the future, we could have another great Scouser addition in our team!
