Ex-Red Fabio Borini reveals his bizarre but beautiful dream of becoming an architect: 'My idea is to design training centres'

"During lockdown, I studied to get my Geometry High School diploma," former Liverpool player Fabio Borini told Calcio e Finanza.

"After football, I dream of studying architecture: my idea is to design training centres for football that are functional for staff, players and clubs.

"Now they won't let me take the exams, I risk losing a year."

Borini joined the Reds back in 2012 and went on to spend 3 years as a Liverpool player with a season-long loan spell at Sunderland. In his 38 appearances for the Reds he scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists. After leaving Liverpool in 2015 he played for Sunderland, AC Milan and Verona, where he's currently at.

The 29-year-old has never really been a solid starting XI player at any club in his career and it's fair to say that he's not the most talented striker you'll see in football.

Well, apparently, he has talents in other fields of life. After all, you don't often see footballers pursuing a career in architecture!

We wish Fabio all the luck on his way to fulfilling this beautiful dream. Maybe he'll add some features to our new training centre at Kirkby one day.
