Harvey Elliott netted his first goal at senior level on Saturday during Blackburn Rovers' 4-0 win away at Coventry City. This was just his second appearance for the Championship side and he really impressed the manager Tony Mowbray with his performance.

The Blackburn boss commented (quotes from Liverpoolfc.com): “He’s a wonderful personality really for such a young boy.

“He’s just a diamond of a football player, I can see why he made his league debut at 15.”

Elliott also spoke after the game: “It's only the beginning, I have a long way to go. I'm taking it day by day and hopefully I can put in the performances in training and in matches to show people what I can do.”

It's great to see the teenager doing well on his loan spell - we hope Elliott comes back better than ever as he could play a big part in Liverpool's future. As Jordan Henderson said, the youngster has 'frightening potential'!
