Henderson and Klopp nominated for 'Football Ally' category at British LGBT Awards

Jordan Henderson and Jurgen Klopp have been shortlisted for the one-off 'Football Ally' category at the annual British LGBT Awards.

For 2021, event organisers are instead introducing a one-off 'Football Ally' award to highlight personalities who are helping to make the men's game more inclusive through their advocacy.

Henderson has been nominated after the Liverpool captain's response to Reds fans Keith Spooner on Twitter made headlines during last year's Rainbow Laces campaign.

Liverpool's manager has been recognized for regularly wearing Rainbow Laces in his trainers on matchdays and encouraging his players to speak up and advocate for social causes.

The Reds duo is nominated alongside former Reds Conor Coady and Graeme Souness as well as Jamie Vardy, Gary Lineker, Richarlison, Danny Welbeck, Gary Cahill and Hector Bellerin.
