Micah Richards reveals why he 'felt sorry' for Alexander-Arnold in Brentford draw

“I felt a little bit sorry for Alexander-Arnold on the right-hand side,” Ex-Man City defender Micah Richards told Match of the Day after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Brentford.

“Normally you've got someone like Fabinho in there. You get him across. [Trent] did really well trying to keep inside within the post, his positioning was right, but when you have two or three [Brentford players to deal with] it's very, very difficult.

“They played the gameplan perfectly. This time it worked for them,” Richards further added.

Alexander-Arnold actually managed to record impressive stats, managing to make the most interceptions, possession recoveries and successful crosses in the game.

However, he couldn’t do much to deal with the high crosses being sent into the far post by the Brentford players and was overpowered on multiple occasions – resulting in LFC conceding some poor goals.
