Why Mo Salah remains ultimate big-game player - explained through one key stat

In the last game before the international break, Mo Salah proved yet again that Liverpool could rely on him to deliver on the biggest stage.

The Egyptian registered a brilliant goal and an excellent assist in a 2-2 draw with Man City.

After that match, Salah's record against other 'big six' sides is 42 direct goal involvements (e.g. goals and assists) in 62 Premier League games. That equals 0.68 goal involvements per 90 minutes.

Only one player in recent history can equal this ratio: ex-Man City striker Sergio Aguero registered 67 goals and assists in 98 games against the 'big six' teams which makes for the same ratio.

They are followed by players like Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eden Hazard.

This stat is yet another proof that Salah will enter history as one of the Premier League greats - Liverpool could probably do worse than signing a new contract with him.
