4 years later, the midfielder shares how his experience at Liverpool has been so far: "I was sort of entering the second part of my career as I joined. So you're not so much a kid anymore and the young talent with potential and prospects.

"Without really knowing, I think it sort of slowly happened over time, just maturing and becoming more of a senior professional on and off the pitch, I guess, in some respects – probably more so off the pitch. I still try to play in very similar ways to how I always used to. 

"I've learned a lot over the years and obviously had the big knee injury that was my first sort of surgery, so that changes your perspective on everything.

"I'd say I am slightly different or just more mature, or more experienced, but I still feel like I'm the same character. The way I try to play football and express myself, that's not changed and I wouldn't really want that to change too much. 

"I'd just say I became more focused on performing and trying to produce numbers – whether that's goals and assists – and winning basically. Making sure that we're winning games and going to win trophies, with a serious chance of doing that and expectation. 

"I think all of that sort of stuff changes your perspective a little bit in your approach, your mentality."

Ox's Liverpool career has not been the best, as injuries have prevented the midfielder from establishing himself as a starter. He's made 105 appearances for the club so far and hopefully, he can have an injury-free season this time around.

I'm sorry my RED family but I have to agree with Thierry Henry, I'm not a big fan of the OX, forever injured and he's definitely not a number 9, he hardly makes OUR Liverpool bench, personally I would off load him next summer as the OX is needed only because of OUR plagued injuries, sorry definitely NOT a RED Man for me !!! OUR 97 ❤️NEVER 🙏FORGOTTEN!!!

he's a good player that gave his heart to Lfc but unfortunately injured brutally and due to this injury he can't perform as before.

Tbh, he doesn't impact games and I have not seen any real improvement since he came back from his knee injury in 2019 🆑 semi final. You want him to do well, but a bit like Keita, how long do you wait for someone until you say, he's just not doing enough?!
