 have started the season with players suffering from injuries here and there, which has already drawn comparisons to last season.

However, fans may have forgotten just how bad last season actually got for the Reds. 

6 senior players missed upwards for 15 games, including the 3 main centre-backs who all missed more than 28. 

For comparison, this list includes 5 out of 8 players that have played the most minutes for Liverpool this season. 

Even though the occasional niggles can be frustrating, injuries are a part of the game and some perspective would be beneficial in this scenario. 

'Feels good to have those names behind me': Mane on centre-back injuries last season after trio's return

 had a nightmarish season when it comes to injuries to centre-backs last season, even though they recovered to finish in 3rd place. 

Sadio Mane has now opened up on the impact of those losses after 

 have all returned during Liverpool's so far unbeaten start to the season. 

He told liverpoolfc.com: “Having one of the best defenders in the world back on your team, you don’t need to describe it – it’s amazing.

“Last year was obviously a tough time for him but now he’s always smiling! And, of course, we are all happy for him.

“He is a very professional athlete who looks after his body all the time and I wasn’t surprised to see him straight back into his old form. We have seen him play a few games now and, for me, we have seen him at that level already.

“Obviously it was a big blow for us missing not only Virgil but also Joel [Matip] and Joe Gomez last year. If you have these kind of players in your team and you’re missing them, then for sure you will feel it. I think any club in this world would feel the same.

“Now we are really happy to have them back and it’s been a good start to the season with these names on the backs of the shirts behind me!”

The problem  with  bringing  players in is how we have to pay top wages too. if it all builds up then we can't  have a balance account.  I hope Salah get  the contract  he deserved 🙏.

Right, last season should of taught OUR owners that we can't win trophies with a team/Squad riddled with Injuries so they should of brought in fresh players this summer but decided against it and now we're in a worse position regarding injuries unless we play ALL OUR bloody CBs in different positions, FSG won't consider buying players in the January sales, FSG still haven't given OUR KING SALAH what he wants, ALL this has become a bloody nightmare, were struggling with Injuries plus the African Cup of Nations is approaching, what squad are we going to have left to play, KLOPP can only do his best with what players he has, Yes he's a genius but he's not a magician, FSG have a lot to answer for, if we do win ALL OUR remaining games in October then OUR RED MEN deserve a bloody pay rise, as so does KLOPP, surely FSG can see that they have made a massive error by NOT bringing in players, but we are the mighty Liverpool football club, we achieved a rewards through sheer passion, commitment and determination !! OUR 97 ❤️NEVER 🙏FORGOTTEN !!!
