One every 55 minutes: Key stat suggests Origi could be given chance to start

Divock Origi has been Liverpool's super-sub during the Jurgen Klopp era, rarely getting a start in the team for extended periods of time.

Despite a slump last season, Origi has stepped up his game quite massively this year.

Origi has 5 goals in 273 minutes, which means he has bagged a goal every 55 minutes he's been on the pitch.

Liverpool are missing Bobby Firmino through injury and based on this form, maybe Origi could be given the chance to start.

Getting him a run in the side may also help his form before he has to fill the boots of Mane and Salah in January.

Jurgen Klopp advised to play Divock Origi more often after West Ham display

Divock Origi is in a bit of a resurgence right now, as he scored two goals in the last three games.

According to former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere, Jurgen Klopp could do worse than give the Belgian a chance to play more.

“It’s a great finish [Origi’s goal]," Wilshere told Sky Sports after the West Ham game last Sunday.

"I am surprised he has not played a lot more. I really like him."

Origi will forever remain a cult hero for the Liverpool fans after his decisive contributions to the Reds' Champions League win in the 2018/19 season.

After that, however, his career has faded a bit, and it looked almost certain that Origi would leave Anfield.

He's still here, though, and might play an important role in the coming months after Mo Salah and Sadio Mane leave for the African Cup of Nations.
