Robbo, Jota 9: Rating Liverpool players in So'ton rout

Man Of The Match

Andy Robertson: 9/10. What a return to the starting XI for Robbo.

The Scottish international put in a stunning performance, whipping in one dangerous cross after another. Played a lovely ball to Jota for the opener, then assisted Mane with a perfect cross but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Robbo could have had another assist in the second half after an inch-perfect cross to Jota but the Portuguese was unlucky not to score.

Impressive

Diogo Jota: 9. Two extremely composed finishes to put Liverpool 2-0 up in the first half. Coolness personified.

Alisson: 9. Great instinct and positional awareness to rush back from his spot when Thiago lost the ball near the Reds' box. Made a brilliant save on Broja to keep the score level and then a big intervention to deny Armstrong shortly before the break. The game could have played out differently had Alisson not made these saves.

Mo Salah: 7.5. Tied Salisu in knots on that right-hand side. Was always active and energetic, recording an assist to Jota's second. Could have been a bit more accurate with his chances as he wasted a brilliant counter-attack a couple of minutes before the break.

Sadio Mane: 7.5. Made a brilliant pass to Robbo in Liverpool's opener. Was very energetic on the left, always trying to make things difficult for Southampton's defenders. Sadio will probably come to Saints' right-back Livramento in his worst nightmares as the Senegalese put him under the most intense pressure he's ever seen in his life.

Virgil van Dijk: 7.5. Watch him defend and watch him score. Netted against his former club with a finish worthy of a £100m striker. Reliable at the back.

Others: Trent 6.5, Konate 6, Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho 7.5, Ox, Milner 7, Minamino N/A
