Van Dijk's free-kick, Henderson's nutmeg & more: 5 episodes from Everton win you might've missed

It was a magical night at Goodison Park, although not for most of the fans who were there.

Liverpool battered Everton 4-1 which was quite a payback from last season when Virgil van Dijk and Thiago suffered serious injuries after the Toffees' reckless tackles.

Here are some episodes of yesterday's game you might've missed.

Jota's amazing run and pass to Trent

Already at 1-0, Jota created a great opportunity for Alexander-Arnold. The forward picked up the ball close to the penalty area and gathered at least three Everton players around him.

As a result, Trent was free and available just outside the box - his left-foot shot was saved by Pickford.

Everton fans start leaving stadium after just 20 minutes

True, that was not on the pitch, but you can understand what's happening there through the gestures those fans made to the cameras (the pics are clickable):

Second ball thrown onto pitch

Those Everton fans who did stay at Goodison tried to stop Liverpool from humiliating their team by all means possible.

During one long attack, another ball was thrown in from the stands.

Fortunately, it did not interfere with the run of play, and the referee allowed it to go on while Thiago kicked it out:

Van Dijk takes free-kicks

Virgil van Dijk had his personal reasons to defeat Everton, and he was so determined to leave his mark that he even took the ball off Trent ahead of a free-kick in a promising position:

Unfortunately, he could not quite lift the ball and it hit the wall.

Henderson's nutmeg

The skipper had already registered a goal and an assist on the night, but he decided to go one further by making a fool of Lucas Digne:
