Juventus legend slams 'arrogant' Liverpool who'd get '10-match ban in Italy' for fouls like ones v Spurs

"I hear people say that Liverpool are unplayable, but no team is, especially against this Inter side," Juventus and Italy legend Marco Tardelli told the Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Football Italia.

"The important thing is that Inter play with this same hunger and desire to play football. They need a different level of intensity with Liverpool and also a better rapport with the referee.

"The fouls that Liverpool players did against Tottenham yesterday, they’d have received a 10-match ban in Italy…

"Besides, Liverpool are almost arrogant in the way they play, all too aware of how strong they are and the protection that they enjoy.”

"Inter are comfortably the strongest team in Italy and they have shaken off the stress they had before."

This is a truly incredible point of view. Maybe Tardelli tried to defend his fellow Italian Antonio Conte — there is no other explanation for this ridiculous opinion.

Liverpool committed 11 fouls and received four yellow cards and a red card.

Robertson's tackle on Emerson was dangerous but the left-back apologised after the game. Something Harry Kane had absolutely no intention of doing after dodging a red card for a potentially leg-breaking challenge on Robbo.

The Reds will face Inter Milan in the Champions League Round of 16.
